Adam Toms once had an opening line on his bio that read ‘Is he Country, Rock, Pop, Blues or all of the above? Let’s leave that for you to decide’.
Well a few years later and Tomsy declares he is defiantly more ‘country rock’ than his earlier years but he still doesn’t mind mixing it up here and there.
After releasing his 'Six Month Of Lovin You' EP in 2009 which saw the title single released along with the very catchy 'Sugar Lips' Adam Toms teamed up 2011 Golden Guitar Producer of the year Matt Fell and Aria award winner Doug Roberts to produce his debut full length album 'Holding My Breath'. Four singles were released from the album with every song receiving more and more radio attention along with film clips for ‘Too Crazy For Love’ & ,Break Another Man’. The later staying in the CMC charts for over a quarter of a year.
Adam somehow mixes his love for artists like Keith Urban, Ben Harper, Eric Clapton, Brooks & Dunn, Ryan Adams and Billy Thorpe to create his own sound.
In 2011 he was a finalist in the ‘Rising Star’ category of the ‘Southern Stars’ Awards, in January 2012 he was a Toyota Star Maker Finalist and in February 2012 Adam took out the top prize in the ‘National Male Vocalist of the Year’ category of the VIC & National Country Music Awards along with the ‘VIC Male Vocalist’ category. Two awards that stamps a clear message both for Adam and the industry that he’s certainly on the right track!
Adam has played supports to Lee Kernaghan, Jetty Road & Melinda Schneider. In March 2012 Adam winds up a massive 9 month Australian solo acoustic tour.
